Virtual Tourism and Retail: Claudio Guti Talks About Metaverse Opportunities in Diario Financiero

From a conversation held on a virtual asteroid, the founder of MetaJungle Plus shares how interactive immersive experiences are revolutionizing industries such as tourism, e-commerce, and education across Latin America.

As part of Diario Financiero’s 34th anniversary, Claudio Guti — founder of MetaJungle Plus — participated in a new edition of Conversaciones DF, broadcast directly from the metaverse. Alongside journalist Antonieta de la Fuente, they discussed how this technology is transforming key industries and the vision behind this innovative Chilean company.

“This is the future,” Guti stated, recalling his first experience with Oculus headsets. Since then, MetaJungle Plus has evolved from a technological exploration phase into a fully active platform, capable of offering real solutions in sectors as diverse as retail, education, healthcare, and tourism.

Immersive Retail: Beyond Traditional E-commerce

One of the most groundbreaking areas is retail. Guti explains that the platform enables brands to design virtual stores where users can see, interact with, and even receive products in the real world.
“Our value proposition allows companies to expand their e-commerce into a far more experiential space, offering an interactive immersive experience where countless possibilities unfold.”

Simply put, visitors can walk through virtual city stores, choose a product, visualize how it was made, and have it delivered to their real-world home. “The sneaker talks to you,” he joked, illustrating the level of personalization and connection that can be achieved.

Another key focus for MetaJungle Plus is tourism. The platform allows users to explore real cities or entirely new ones through virtual tours, enabling meaningful travel experiences with real impact. This proposal not only opens new doors for the tourism industry but also promotes geographic, historical, and cultural learning — all from an accessible and sustainable perspective.

Education, Healthcare, and Social Purpose

Beyond entertainment and commerce, Claudio Guti emphasizes that social impact is central to MetaJungle Plus’s mission.

With projections estimating that the metaverse could represent up to 5.1% of Latin America’s GDP in the next eight years, Claudio Guti argues that we are witnessing a new technological revolution:
